Dr. Griffin Brame is a distinguished board-certified ophthalmologist and skilled ophthalmic surgeon with over 40 years of experience specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of both medical and surgical retinal conditions.
Education and Training:
After graduating from the University of North Carolina, Dr. Brame pursued his medical education at Duke University’s School of Medicine, where he laid the groundwork for his illustrious career in ophthalmology.
Following medical school, Dr. Brame completed his residency training at the esteemed Medical University of South Carolina, where he refined his clinical expertise and developed a deep understanding of ophthalmic medicine.
Dr. Brame then pursued advanced fellowship training in retina and vitreous diseases at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans, further honing his skills in the intricate field of retinal surgery.

Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Brame leads a vibrant life filled with diverse interests and pursuits. He finds solace and joy on the tennis court, in the skies as a licensed private pilot, playing the guitar, immersing himself in captivating novels, exploring scenic trails on his bike, and traveling. Notably, Dr. Brame's adventurous spirit led him on a memorable 10-day hike to the Mt. Everest base camp in 2019, a testament to his love for hiking and exploration. He enjoys spending quality time with his family, often coaching his five children in various sports activities.
